12.6. The Terminal Server Gateway
Terminal Services Gateway, or TS Gateway, is another of the new role services that are part of the Terminal Services role. The service creates a secure connection in a terminal server session between a remote user and a corporate or private network that allows the remote user to run RemoteApps without having to create a VPN connection. The list of available remote programs that a user sees can be customized for each specific user.
There are three ways to set up the TS Gateway service:
As the remote access point for a LAN
As the access point where clients are validated by a Network Access Protection (NAP) policy service or a RADIUS server
