Backing Up and Recovering Your Data

Windows Server 2003 includes a backup utility called Backup that was developed by Veritas Software Corporation. Backup is a versatile utility designed to perform backups of individual systems. You use Backup to perform the following tasks:

  • Create backup archives of files and folders

  • Create backups of the System State

  • Create Automated System Recovery backups

  • Access media pools reserved for Backup

  • Restore archived files and folders

  • Restore the System State
