Using the Appearances and Themes Category
The Appearance and Themes category (see Figure 14.2) is used to control the way your desktop looks. You can choose a task to perform or select one of the Control Panel applets from the bottom of the window.

Using the task list and Control Panel applets are really just two different ways of doing the same thing. Clicking an applet opens a tabbed dialog box for configuring that aspect of Windows, the same as opening the applet from the Control Panel's Classic View.
