Add or Remove Programs

The Add or Remove Programs category on the main Control Panel window is really not a category at all. Instead, it is a link that directly opens the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel applet. You can use this applet to add and remove not only applications, such as Microsoft Office but also optional components of Windows XP, such as the Fax Client service. Chapter 12, “Installing and Removing Applications, covers this applet in detail.”
