Backing Up and Restoring the Registry
When you make a change to the Registry using the Windows Registry Editor, the change is made to your system immediately. You don't get the luxury of being able to review your changes and save the file and there is no undo function. Changes just happen. For this reason, it is extremely important that you back up your Registry before making any edits.
