Restoring Data from a Backup
Windows XP makes restoring files from a backup just as easy as backing them up in the first place. Before you get started with a restoration, however, there may be a few other actions you need to take first. This really depends on what you are restoring and why.
The first action is to get your hands on the right backup sets to do the job. The following will help you decide what you need:
If you run only full backups and you are going to restore your whole system, the only thing you will need is the last full backup you created. If you need to dig through a backup to find an individual file, you will need the backup set that you think contains the file.
