A MicroStrategy Schedule is a Configuration Object that allows MicroStrategy to program a cache and Intelligent Cube refresh and administration tasks such as cache deletion, Project loading, history list purging, and statistics purging, and so on.

Schedules can be either time-based or event-based. Time-based Schedules define frequency based on a calendar, date, and times, whereas event-based Schedules need an additional object to be triggered. This object is a MicroStrategy Event, discussed in the next section.
