Abdominal Examination and Application

It is the process of identifying the foetal condition and favourable birth passage.

OBJECTIVES
  1. Observe the lie, presentation and position of foetus as to assess the relationship between foetal head and pelvic brim.
  2. Assess foetal growth.
  3. Correlate findings and detect any risk.
  4. Arrange for referral in case of any deviations from normal.
