Techniques of Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding is the optimal way to feed a newborn and an infant, which can be continued up to 2 years.
Exclusive breastfeeding means the infant receives only breast milk (from his/her mother or a wet nurse or expressed breast milk) and no other liquids or complementary foods with the exception of undiluted drops or syrups consisting of vitamin and mineral supplements or medicine (WHO 18 May 2001 and BPNI) for the first 6 months.
