Creating a Log Analytics workspace

To create a Log Analytics workspace, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the Azure portal by opening the following link: https://portal.azure.com/.

2. Click on New and type in Log Analytics in the search bar. Create a new workspace.
3. Enter the following settings:
   • Log Analytics Workspace: Type PacktPubLogAnalytics.
   • Subscription: Pick a subscription.
   • Resource group: Create a new one and call it PacktPubLogAnalyticsGroup.
   • Location: Select East US.
   • Pricing Tier: Select Per GB (2018), as seen in this screenshot:

3. • Click on OK.
4. The workspace will now be created.
