"Microsoft ♡ Linux" was written on the closing slide of a presentation given by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella in 2015. This announced a wave of changes that were going to happen, and Satya Nadella wanted to address Microsoft's interest in Linux and Open-Source Software (OSS) technologies. Everyone felt that there was some contradiction here, wondering why Microsoft was working with OSS technologies. Wired magazine reported that Nadella is not interested in fighting old battles—especially, when, like it or not, Linux has become a vital part of today's business technology.
