Host Application Threats

In this module, we begin our discussion on application-related threats. Keep in mind that from a host perspective, many attacks we’ll talk about directly affect the web servers that host and run web-based applications. A multitude of attacks can compromise these hosts, directly access data, and further attack clients that connect to the hosts. The focus of this module is on application threats that directly affect the server and infrastructure hosting a web application. The next module will discuss the web application threats that can affect client machines connecting to the web server.
