Chapter 7. Munitions

As the Army’s transformation toward the Objective Force starts to network together soldiers and systems via the Objective Force Warrior and Future Combat Systems initiatives, the traditional view of munitions is changing, as well. The requirements for munitions have changed considerably due to ever-changing threats and the needs of the public and our politicians in calling for greater discretion in their use. Today’s requirements are for more specialized missions and for more responsive, agile, versatile, and lethal capabilities, while minimizing collateral damage to civilians and noncombatants.
