Flexible Antennas for Mobile Terminals

3.1Introduction

In this chapter, flexible substrates for designing antennas at millimeter wave frequencies will be presented. Flexible antennas are an interesting class of antennas, where the characteristics of the antenna remain invariant even when its geometry is deformed. Flexible antennas have been investigated thoroughly in the lower frequency spectrum, especially for wearable applications and defence applications. Typically, in wearable applications, the antenna designed on an electrically and physically thin substrate would be conformed to the garment.
