Fabrication and Measurement Challenges at mmWaves
9.1Introduction
Fabrication of the antennas is one of the most crucial part of the entire design process. The challenges offered for characterizing antennas in the Ka band is unique because of the physical size of the antenna and the various aspects involved in pattern measurements. It must be noted that antenna measurement in the lower frequencies (1–10 GHz) is straightforward as the sources of error are minimal and well known [1,2]. Insights on issues with millimeter wave antenna measurements are discussed in [3,4,5,6]. In this chapter, issues regarding fabrication and measurement is discussed in detail.
