Chapter 13: Animation and Movement In-Game
Now things are going to start feeling a little more fun. We are going to start taking all the pieces we have lovingly crafted so far and put them together into a cohesive whole. It's time for our game to start feeling like a game!
We're going to cover a lot of ground in this chapter, trust me. Specifically, we will do the following:
- Import the rigged marine model and Mixamo animations into Unity
- Create and apply a material to the marine
- Play animations on the marine with an Animation Controller and add footstep sounds
- Add lights to the level and other tweaks
- Script the marine to move with the keyboard
- Follow the moving marine with a Cinemachine camera
