Minecraft fans frequently turn to LEGO to re-create their favorite game elements. Although not perfect for the job, the building set’s bricks may be used to represent Minecraft’s iconic blocks, like the ones seen in Figure 2-1. The companies have even teamed up to release a line of Minecraft-themed LEGO sets replicating some of the video game’s locations and mobs.
You don’t need a commercial Minecraft set to work with LEGO, however. This chapter describes how to build ore blocks out of LEGO using three techniques: tile elements on a six-plate cube, a large Emerald Ore block built out of LEGO bricks, and a small, brick-made Coal Ore block.
