6.2. Minecraft and Teaching Humanities
I interviewed John Miller in February 2014, but I had been wanting to hear from John and see his Minecraft world for a long time before that. Humanities is a rich subject to use with Minecraft, and John’s project is a perfect example of a fully immersive project that engages students and propels them into an ancient civilization. My favorite part was reading the information blocks outside the student-built structures, which students wrote from the perspective of the citizens of that ancient time. I look forward to seeing what John does next with Minecraft in his classes.
