Mixing is perhaps the single greatest challenge we face in our career. How can we possibly succeed at something so large, variable, open-ended, and creative while owning the necessary and vast technical details of hardware, software, room acoustics, and critical listening?
Doing your first mix is a lot like getting that first job. Nobody will hire you without experience, but you can't get experience until someone hires you. You won't know how to mix until you mix, but you can't mix until you know how to mix. We've got to start somewhere, so here we go.
