In this chapter, a pilot reuse scheme has been considered for the uplink of a massive multiple input multiple output system. Subsequently, a lower bound on the throughput of the system has been derived, which is applicable for any number of antennas. In the supposed scenario, each user first transmits a training or pilot sequence to the base station, where a maximal ratio combining receiver decodes this message to determine the channel response, which can then be used to improve average throughput.
