The security of content transmitted over different transmission media has always been a key consideration in pay-TV services. Traditional pay-TV networks, such as those involving cable TV (DVB-C), satellite (DVB-S), or terrestrial transmission (DVB-T) have been using conditional access systems such as NDS, Conax, Irdeto, Viaccess, etc. to secure content from the point of transmission until it is received at the set-top box of the customer.
