As a journalist who has written about the intersection of technology and education for more than 12 years, my discussions during the summer of 2008 with 22 Northern Virginia children, ages five to 12, are reflected in this chapter. The children shared with me their ideas about their mobile technologies, which included portable gaming devices, video players, music players, and cell phones.
