The Big Debate
Abstract
A critical discussion in mobile experience design is to decide whether to create a mobile website or mobile app; I call this the BIG debate. The goal of this chapter is to open the conversation about the advantages and disadvantages of each approach. Designers will gain the knowledge to complement these experiences and at the same time to learn the limitations of mobile user experience design. By presenting this argument, I give the mobile user experience designer the ability to have an informed view on both methods. The chapter also covers responsive web design as another choice, with its own advantages and disadvantages.
