In this chapter we get down to the meat of describing the dynamics of the problem solution. The most basic tool for doing that in MBD is the finite state machine (FSM). The FSM is probably the most elegant and important general mathematical tool applied to software development.1 More important, it is extraordinarily applicable to OO development.
