6A Survey: Emotion Detection Using Facial Reorganization Using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Viola–Jones Algorithm

Abstract
According to a World Health Organization (WHO) report in 2015, one in five people in India suffer from depression in their lifetime, which accounts for almost 300 million people. Most cases in India are not even reported, so the number is likely to be greater than this. With the increase in everyday stress from a job or daily life, or in the case of students, academic stress, people have not been giving much care to their mental health, which in time leads to depression. According to WHO data from 2016, India’s suicide rate was 16.5 per 100,000 individuals, the highest in Southeast Asia. Suicide is the main cause of death in the 15–19-year-old age group in India; something was clearly wrong with our perception of mental health and the problems related to it. Keeping this in mind, we came up with an idea where we created an application that detects user’s emotions and suggests a binaural beats playlist, which would help them calm their emotions.
