Chapter 9 Headend Operation
9.1 Introduction
Previous chapters in the headend section have covered the input devices to headends and the electronics that compose the bulk of the headend equipment. This chapter covers a number of issues related to headend operation. First, the accepted band plan for cable television is presented. This defines the accepted channel number versus frequency plan adopted by both the cable television and consumer electronics industries, and mandated by the FCC.
