Howard Phillips (H. P.) Lovecraft welcomed the 20th century with a vision of dark eternity. From 1917 to 1936 he wrote a range of stories that included the Cthulhu mythos and stories of the Elder Gods. His tales of unspeakable horrors finding their way into the world around us have become a cultural mainstay in books, comics, movies, and games.
