Modern Mentoring and the 70-20-10 Learning Model
A wise person once issued me a warning when I was young. He told me that you are the smartest you’ll ever be when you graduate high school, and the dumbest you’ll ever be when you graduate college.
Now, as a young man, I certainly thought this person was way off the mark. How could I not be smarter once I finished college and attained my degree? That would be four more years’ worth of learning, education, and information that I’d have acquired. By all accounts, I’d be smarter, right?
In some ways, yes; I would gain knowledge from my education. But in other ways, the person who gave me that advice was right. I’d be book smart, but not necessarily experience smart.
