Some of the most commonly used terms, both in this book and in general usage, are defined on the following pages. Most of the definitions given in this glossary are based on References 1 through 8.
AA: Abbreviation for all-aluminum conductors.
AAAC: Abbreviation for all-aluminum-alloy conductors. Aluminum-alloy conductors have higher strength than that of the ordinary electric-conductor grade of aluminum.
AC circuit breaker: A circuit breaker whose principal function is usually to interrupt short circuit or fault currents.
