Integration – Playing Friendly in a Cloud-Native World
Let’s start by defining our view on what playing friendly in a cloud-native world means. In a cloud-native world, applications should have the following characteristics related to integration:
- Published interfaces for other systems to connect
- Extensible connectors to other systems
- The ability to scale up and down as needed
- Offer entry, standard, and premium services to meet customer needs
- Leverage Platform as a Service (PaaS) capabilities
- Isolation of services – limited or no cross-services dependency
- Integration with cloud monitoring services, such as Azure Monitor
