Chapter 14. Adopt

You can’t roll out a vast collection of components and expect everyone to instantly get it. Instead, the rollout must be coupled with a planned program of training and materials that teach designers and other stakeholders how, why, and when to use components.

A coordinated program of activities and reference materials to foster adoption of the component library can combine the following:

• Pilot period(s) that test processes in narrow, contained settings to work out the kinks

• Live face-to-face training sessions that start with the basics and follow up with specialized topics

• Coaching

• Online discussions, blogs, and email notifications

• Video-based training
