Monitoring with Opsview

Agentless monitoring

In some situations, we simply cannot deploy agents to perform all kinds of monitoring functions; the most common cases are those of networking equipment or appliances. But even when we cannot deploy an agent, we still wantto keep track of these hosts and to handle this, Opsview allows for various forms of agentless monitoring.

SSH

The SSH method of performing remote monitoring is based on using check_by_ssh as a plugin, connecting to our host using SSH, and then performing an action.

This action can be used to run a single command or execute a script and return the results of these actions to Opsview.
