Chapter 4. Course Management

Moodle stores learning resources and activities in courses, which belong to categories. In the first part of this chapter, you will learn to:

  • Organize courses in categories and sub-categories
  • Create and manage courses
  • Deal with course requests

In the second part of the chapter, we will cover different ways of enrolling users to courses. The enrolment mechanisms covered are:

  • Internal enrolment (manual, self, and guest)
  • Cohort enrolment and synchronization
  • Database-driven enrolment (LDAP, external databases, flat files, and IMS Enterprise files)
  • Meta courses
  • Payment-driven enrolment (PayPal)
