Community Initiative

The following fictitious story about a community initiative uses all the new patterns and many from our original book.

Alex had always enjoyed walking around Sunset Lake, a small wooded neighborhood spot, but over the last several months, it seemed to him that there was more trash along the banks. He worried that the water in the lake was becoming polluted.

One day Alex noticed several dead fish that had washed up on shore and saw that a handful of concerned neighbors had gathered around. The discussion was heated, and it seemed that everyone had an opinion about what should be done. Alex realized that it was easy to talk about a problem but taking action meant being willing to invest time and energy.
