The Winter of Our Concern

Leader to Leader is almost 10 years old and the Drucker Foundation/Leader to Leader Institute celebrated its 15th anniversary in May. Lots of anniversaries around here.

As I look back to that first issue of the journal in 1996, I remember it was the beginning of a dream, an expectation that great thought leaders might share their ideas, their stories, their inspiration with the leaders we would serve in all three sectors—the nonprofit leaders and their partners in business and government. We had just begun calling the nonprofit sector “the social sector,” agreeing that “nonprofit states only what we are not; it is in the social sector where we find the greatest success in meeting social needs.”
