Accessing Facebook, Twitter, and Other Social Networks

If you visit specific websites every day from your computer or smartphone, I'm sure you'll want to access them from your Xoom, too. You have several options for accessing those sites, including using Voice Search to locate them in the Browser, performing a keyword search, accessing a previously saved bookmark (see Chapter 5), or acquiring an app for the site if one's available (see Chapter 6, “How Do I Get the Most from the Android Market?”). Websites you visit multiple times a day might even deserve their own place on one of Xoom's Home screens as well. Because much of the more complex tasks are covered later in the book, here you focus on navigating to the site, signing in, and creating a shortcut on the Home screen.

NAVIGATING TO THE SITE

First things first; navigate to the site. Here are some common addresses for social websites you may want to navigate to. If you'd rather not type this information (remember you can leave out the http://www.), consider performing a voice-activated search. To do this, simply say “Go to” followed by the name of the website:
