Exploring the Android Apps Section
Although you can likely deduce what the terms used in the Android Apps section of the Market mean, for good measure they are introduced here. There are similar terms in the Books section:
- Categories—Enables you to view only apps that match the category type you select. To see how this works, on the right side of the screen, scroll down and choose any category (e.g., Health & Fitness). The screen refreshes to show all of the apps within that category. Tap any app that seems interesting to see more details. Tap the Back button to return to the main screen.
- Featured Tablet Apps—Apps that the Market deems notable for Android tablets. The apps may be highly ranked, trending, and innovative or extremely useful. If you'd like to see more of these apps, tap the Featured Tablet Apps heading, explore them, and then tap the Back button to return to the main screen.
- Top Free Apps—The most popular free apps. You'll probably see a few apps already on your Xoom, including YouTube and Google Maps. The Market serves anyone with an Android device, not just those people who own Xooms!
- Best Selling Apps—The most popular selling apps. If you'd like to see more of these apps, tap the Best Selling Apps title to open the menu, explore them, and then tap the Back button to return to the main screen.
