How you choose to see the world also influences how you begin each day, how you interact with the people you meet, and how you make decisions throughout the day. With the proper perspective, you'll see a lot more opportunities in your life—and experience freedom.
Many people who can't get free struggle with negative attitudes or fear of taking control of or responsibility for their lives.
So how do you see the world?
Author Matthew Kelly asks that question at the start of this chapter. Instead of falling into the trap of believing that the whole world is like the neighborhood you live in, Kelly writes in his book The Rhythm of Life that if you reduced the world's population of 7 billion to 100 people, things would shake out proportionally in this manner:
- Fifty-seven would come from Asia.
- Twenty-one would come from Europe.
- Fourteen would come from North America and South America.
- Eight would come from Africa.
- Fifty-one would be women; 49 would be men.
