Chapter 26. Paragraph and Character Styles
You’ll be happy to know that InDesign styles meet or beat the capabilities of the paragraph and character styles in both QuarkXPress and PageMaker. However, it handles character styles in a very different way than XPress does (PageMaker doesn’t offer character-based styles). Also, InDesign splits styles into two separate palettes: Paragraph Styles and Character Styles. And unlike XPress, empty style palettes don’t have any default styles, such as Normal.
Creating Paragraph Styles
