Chapter 38. Creating and Applying Colors
InDesign uses two different palettes to create and manipulate colors. One of them, the Swatches palette, follows the PageMaker and QuarkXPress model of working with named colors. The other is the Color palette—similar to the Color palette in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop—which allows you to use sliders to mix colors, and which can create and apply colors without naming them. You can mix colors in InDesign in CMYK, RGB, and Lab (but not HSB or HLS) color models, and you can define colors as either process or spot.
