Welcome to the Linux universe and your new, all-powerful Linux desktop!
Very recently, city council in Munich, Germany, decided to switch its 14,000 computer systems running Windows over to Linux. As I write this, Paris, France, is looking at converting 17,000 workstations and 400 servers to Linux. The region of Extremadura in Spain deployed 80,000 Linux desktops for its schools. A little further east, Rome, Italy, is looking to deploy Linux desktops to some 9,500 employees. On a smaller scale, and closer to my part of the world, Legal Aid Manitoba converted its 150 workstations and its servers to Linux for a conservatively estimated taxpayer savings of $350,000.
