16.7. Version 2 Error-Robustness Test

As explained in the previous section, the MPEG-4 Audio Version 2 verification tests included three coding efficiency subtests and two error-robustness subtests. In Section 16.6, the coding efficiency test was addressed. This section deals with the error-robustness test.

The evaluation of error robustness implied a comparison between the perceived quality of a stream corrupted by transmission errors against the perceived quality of the same stream when uncorrupted. For this, it was essential to select relevant channel conditions.
