This section shows how you can use the 6PE functionality in more complex network design scenarios. These scenarios will include BGP route reflectors and BGP confederations as well as interautonomous system 6PE functionality.
BGP route reflectors are the most common method of scaling BGP-based networks and are commonly used in larger service provider networks. The concept of BGP route reflectors is explained in great detail in Internet Routing Architectures, published by Cisco Press.
