So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
MPLS TE and MPLS VPN
When you are using TE tunnels in an MPLS VPN network, you should know a few specifics.
TE Tunnels Between PE Routers
When two TE tunnels (one for each direction) exist between a pair of PE routers and the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) next hop of the vpnv4 routes is pointing to the TE tunnels, the VRF traffic flows across the TE tunnels. The packets have two labels: The top label is the TE label, and the bottom label is the VPN label. If TE is enabled on all provider (P) routers but LDP is not, all the VRF traffic must flow over the TE tunnels; otherwise, the traffic only has the VPN label and never gets to the egress PE router.
