Transported Layer 2 Protocols
AToM supports several Layer 2 protocols that can be transported across the MPLS network. This section shows an overview of the needed configuration for each of these Layer 2 protocols. In addition to that, you learn what the exact payload is of the AToM packets for each protocol. Note that the ACs on both sides of the MPLS network are of the same encapsulation type. This is referred to as like-to-like functionality.
HDLC
For HDLC, the customer-facing interface on the PE router needs the encapsulation hdlc command. Example 10-6 shows the basic AToM configuration for HDLC.
