Introduction

This chapter provides a detailed examination of how interfaces are represented and stacked in MPLS. Specifically, we will investigate how interfaces are represented in various MIB modules and how they are related to entries in RFC 2863. This chapter will explain, in general, how RFC 2863 interface entries apply to MPLS. We will investigate how they specifically are applied to general MPLS networks, as well as MPLS traffic-engineered and MPLS virtual private network deployments.
