Introduction
Traffic engineering is a tool used by operators of networks as part of an overall program of network management. Use of this tool includes a periodic cycle of network analysis and/or predictions of network traffic growth. This process is fed and driven by first gathering network statistics from network nodes or intermediate collection devices.
