VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP Functions
Through these functions, we can “look up” values from worksheet ranges.
In Excel, we can perform both vertical lookups (using VLOOKUP functions) and horizontal lookups (using HLOOKUP functions).
A) In a vertical lookup, the lookup operation starts in the first column of a worksheet range.Use VLOOKUP when each row contains a separate record and the associated columns contain data for that one record.
B) In a horizontal lookup, the operation starts in the first row of a worksheet range.
Use HLOOKUP when each column contains a separate record.
These functions can help us find specific cells of data in a larger matrix.
The syntax is VLOOKUP (Search Value, Range, Column Number, Error) ...
