The Goal Seek Command

What-If Analysis provides an ability to pursue the cycle of trial-and-error use of base numbers in formulas.

Using the Goal Seek Tool automates the process of changing one variable while calculating the function to get the value that you want.

A) Set cell: The cell that will display what you are trying to get. It must contain a formula.

B) To value: The value that you want. It must be numeric.

C) By changing cell: The cell that Excel changes.

Goal Seek is a tool, not a function.
