The presentation of multi-antenna SAR systems and signal processing relies on some basic concepts, particularly from signal analysis and processing. For the benefit of the reader, we shall motivate these concepts. In this way, readers will be introduced to the necessary concepts in a gradual and motivated manner. In this chapter, we collect several basic concepts of general interest. These concepts complement well the material in future chapters and will be called upon at different stages of the discussion.
